About
Focus and Scope
The Journal of Career and Technical Education intends to serve as a forum for discussion of important issues and trends in the field of career and technical education. Thus, manuscripts submitted for consideration by JCTE should focus on career and technical education philosophy, theory or practice.
Research reports are the primary publication focus. Comprehensive reviews of literature and reports on methodological issues are also considered. All articles should relate to current issues in career and technical education, cite appropriate literature and have direct implications for educators, policymakers, and/or researchers in the field.
Manuscripts should not have been published or be under current consideration for publication by other journals. At least one author of a paper must be an OTT member for their paper to be published. OTT members must be current with membership dues before submitting an article.
Publication Frequency
The journal is published online as a continuous volume and issue throughout the year. Articles are made available as soon as they are ready to ensure that there are no unnecessary delays in getting content publically available. There are no formal submission deadlines for regular issues.
Open Access Policy
This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
Authors of articles published remain the copyright holders and grant third parties the right to use, reproduce, and share the article according to the Creative Commons license agreement.
Archiving Policy
The journal’s publisher focuses on making content discoverable and accessible through indexing services. Content is also archived around the world to ensure long-term availability.
